U.S. Market Entry

Opening a U.S. Company Is Only Step One

April 28, 2026 · 5 min read

We regularly meet companies that formed a U.S. LLC eight, ten, even eighteen months earlier — and haven't done anything with it since. The entity was never the hard part. What comes after is.

What actually needs to happen after formation

  • Opening a functioning U.S. bank account
  • Setting up accounting and understanding your filing obligations
  • Deciding whether you need a physical U.S. address or warehousing
  • Identifying your first vendors, suppliers or logistics partners
  • Understanding any product-specific regulatory requirements
  • Building the commercial relationships — buyers, distributors, or customers — that make the entity worth having

The entity is infrastructure. It doesn't generate revenue on its own. The companies that get real value from a U.S. subsidiary are the ones that treat formation as the starting gun, not the finish line, and move immediately into banking, operations and commercial development.

If your company already has a U.S. entity sitting idle, the fastest path forward is usually a short assessment of what's actually in place, what's missing, and what should happen next — rather than starting the whole process over.
